Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF

The sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art opens to f/1.4 at the classic portrait focal length, providing strong subject isolation, creamy background blur, and significant low-light advantage for studio, available-light, and outdoor portrait photography on Canon EF cameras.

Sigma's Art line places optical performance above all other constraints, using a large-diameter optical formula with premium glass types to achieve resolution and contrast that set the 85mm Art as a benchmark portrait prime at f/1.4 for Canon EF mount cameras.

The Hyper Sonic Motor delivers fast and near-silent autofocus with full-time manual focus override, maintaining full compatibility with Canon EF camera AF systems including AI Servo continuous tracking for reliable focus during moving portrait and event shooting.

Special Low Dispersion glass elements throughout the optical formula control axial and lateral chromatic aberration at f/1.4, producing accurate color rendering and high contrast across the image circle from center to edge at the portrait focal length.

Super Multi-Layer Coating on internal elements suppresses internal reflections and minimizes flare and ghosting when shooting backlit portrait subjects or in conditions with strong light sources near the edge of the 85mm field of view.

Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth and circular out-of-focus highlights at f/1.4, delivering the creamy three-dimensional background rendering and subject separation that defines the Sigma Art 85mm as a professional portrait prime benchmark.

Designed for the Canon EF mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Canon EOS DSLR cameras and with Canon EOS R mirrorless cameras via the Canon EF-EOS R mount adapter.

Precision-engineered barrel construction with tight tolerances provides consistent optical alignment, with a non-rotating front element that allows circular polarizing filters to maintain their orientation during autofocus operation.
