Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF

The sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art opens to f/1.4, delivering strong subject separation and significant light-gathering advantage over f/1.8 and f/2 alternatives for portrait, street, and low-light photography on Canon EF cameras.

Sigma's Art line prioritizes maximum optical performance over compactness, using a large-diameter optical formula with premium glass elements to achieve high resolution, accurate color rendering, and low aberration wide open at f/1.4.

The Hyper Sonic Motor delivers fast and near-silent autofocus with full-time manual focus override, maintaining full compatibility with Canon EF camera autofocus systems including One-Shot, AI Servo, and AI Focus tracking modes.

Sigma's Special Low Dispersion glass elements throughout the optical formula control axial and lateral chromatic aberration at the wide f/1.4 aperture, producing accurate color rendering and high contrast even at maximum aperture.

Super Multi-Layer Coating on internal elements minimizes internal reflections and suppresses flare and ghosting when shooting backlit subjects or with strong light sources near the edge of the 50mm field of view.

Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth and circular out-of-focus highlights at f/1.4, delivering the pleasing subject separation and three-dimensional rendering characteristic of the Sigma Art 50mm design.

Designed for the Canon EF mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Canon EOS DSLR cameras including APS-C bodies where it provides an effective 80mm equivalent focal length.

The lens barrel uses a combination of high-quality plastics and metal components in a robust construction that handles the demands of professional use, with a non-rotating front element for use with circular polarizing filters.
