Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Canon EF M)

The sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary opens to f/1.4 on an APS-C sensor, providing an effective 48mm equivalent field of view with strong subject separation and significant low-light capability for street, portrait, and everyday photography on Canon EF-M cameras.

A stepping motor focusing system delivers smooth, near-silent autofocus operation that is well suited for video recording on Canon EOS M cameras, with fast subject acquisition for stills and quiet focus transitions during movie mode without audible motor noise.

Sigma's Special Low Dispersion glass elements and aspherical elements in the Contemporary optical formula control chromatic aberration and field curvature at f/1.4 on an APS-C sensor, delivering center and edge sharpness expected from the DC DN lens design.

Super Multi-Layer Coating on internal elements suppresses flare and ghosting in backlit conditions, maintaining image contrast and color fidelity when shooting street, environmental portrait, and available-light subjects toward strong light sources.

Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth and circular out-of-focus highlights at f/1.4 on the APS-C sensor, delivering pleasing background separation for portrait and street work at the effective 48mm standard equivalent focal length.

The DC DN designation indicates this lens is designed specifically for APS-C mirrorless sensors, allowing a more compact and lightweight construction than a full-frame lens while delivering optical performance optimized for the smaller image circle.

The Contemporary line balances optical quality with a compact and lightweight build that keeps the lens size proportional to EOS M camera bodies, making it comfortable for everyday carry and use in street and travel photography.

Designed for the Canon EF-M mount and covering the APS-C image circle, this lens is compatible with all Canon EOS M mirrorless cameras including the M50, M50 Mark II, M6, M6 Mark II, and M200 series bodies.
