Canon RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Lens

The canon rf 24mm lens opens to f/1.8, providing strong light-gathering at the wide-angle focal length for handheld shooting in low-light interiors, astrophotography, and environmental portraits where a wide field of view is required.

A 1:2 maximum magnification ratio at a minimum focusing distance of 14cm allows close-up photography of small subjects at half life size, making this lens a practical wide-angle macro option for detail, texture, and product shots.

The STM stepping motor drives smooth and near-silent autofocus for video and stills, fully compatible with Dual Pixel CMOS AF on Canon EOS R cameras for reliable subject tracking across the full frame.

The built-in Optical IS works in combination with in-body IS on compatible Canon EOS R cameras, providing effective multi-stop shake correction for handheld wide-angle shooting and close-up work where micro-movement is more visible.

One Ultra-Low Dispersion element and one aspherical element manage chromatic aberration and field curvature across the focus range from infinity to the 14cm macro minimum, maintaining sharpness from center to corner at all distances.

Super Spectra coatings on internal elements suppress flare and ghosting caused by strong light sources within or adjacent to the wide 24mm field of view, maintaining contrast and color accuracy in challenging lighting situations.

Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth and circular bokeh highlights at wide apertures, and at macro distances the 1:2 magnification creates strong subject separation against blurred backgrounds even on a wide-angle focal length.

Designed for the Canon RF mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Canon EOS R full-frame and APS-C mirrorless cameras, where its 24mm focal length provides approximately 38mm equivalent.
