Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Canon EF M)

The sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary opens to f/1.4 on an APS-C sensor, providing an effective 25.6mm equivalent ultra-wide field of view with maximum light-gathering for landscape, astrophotography, interior, and vlog shooting on Canon EOS M cameras.

A stepping motor focusing system delivers smooth and near-silent autofocus well suited for video recording on Canon EOS M cameras, with fast subject acquisition for stills and quiet focus transitions during movie recording without motor noise pickup on the microphone.

Sigma's Special Low Dispersion glass elements and aspherical elements in the Contemporary optical formula control chromatic aberration, coma, and field curvature at f/1.4 on an APS-C sensor, maintaining sharpness across the corners for landscape and astrophotography use.

Super Multi-Layer Coating suppresses flare and ghosting when shooting toward strong light sources within the expansive 25.6mm equivalent ultra-wide field of view, maintaining contrast and color fidelity for interior and landscape photography.

Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth out-of-focus highlights at f/1.4 and a distinctive starburst pattern at small apertures, making the lens effective for both fast aperture landscape and astrophotography as well as creative wide-angle close-up work.

The DC DN designation confirms this lens is designed specifically for APS-C mirrorless sensors, achieving a more compact and lightweight build than a full-frame ultra-wide equivalent while delivering optical quality optimized for the EOS M sensor size.

Moisture-resistant construction at the barrel joints provides protection against light rain and splashes during outdoor landscape and travel photography, making this lens suitable for field use in variable weather on Canon EOS M cameras.

Designed for the Canon EF-M mount and covering the APS-C image circle, this lens is compatible with all Canon EOS M mirrorless cameras including the M50, M50 Mark II, M6, M6 Mark II, and M200 series camera bodies.
