Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera

The Canon R5 C combines a 45MP full-frame stills camera with a dedicated cinema camera in a single body, using a physical photo/video switch to toggle between the two distinct shooting modes and their separate menus.

A 45MP full-frame CMOS sensor enables 8K cinema RAW Light recording in photo mode and 12-bit Cinema RAW Light in cinema mode, covering the needs of high-resolution commercial photography and cinema production.

Records Cinema RAW Light internally at 8K up to 30fps and 4K up to 120fps with no recording time limit in cinema mode, supported by active cooling through a built-in fan that prevents thermal shutdown.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF with eye and face detection in both photo and cinema modes tracks subjects with high accuracy, with compatibility with Canon's cinema lens protocol for precise focus pulls on EF Cinema lenses.

Dual card slots accept CFexpress Type B for high-bandwidth 8K RAW recording and a UHS-II SD card as the second slot, with dual-slot simultaneous and relay recording options for reliability on long shoots.

Cinema RAW Light files are significantly smaller than uncompressed RAW while retaining 12-bit color depth, making storage and post-production workflows more practical for long-form cinema production.

The multi-function shoe and a dedicated timecode DIN port allow synchronization with external recorders, mixers, and other cameras on set, supporting frame-accurate multi-camera timecode alignment.

The DIGIC X processor handles simultaneous 8K video encoding and high-speed stills processing, and supports Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 gamma curves for maximum dynamic range retention in both modes.

Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow remote monitoring and control via the Canon Camera Connect app and support connection to Canon's optional wireless file transmitter accessories for on-set image delivery.
