Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S Lens

The nikon z 35mm f/1.8 S opens to f/1.8, providing strong subject separation and generous light-gathering at the classic wide-angle focal length for street, documentary, environmental portrait, and travel photography on Nikon Z-mount full-frame cameras.

A multi-focus system uses two independently controlled focus groups for fast and accurate autofocus across the full focus range from close to infinity, delivering smooth focus transitions during video recording and reliable subject tracking in stills mode.

Multiple aspherical and Extra-low Dispersion glass elements in the optical formula control field curvature, distortion, and chromatic aberration at f/1.8, maintaining edge-to-edge sharpness and color accuracy across the full Z-mount image circle.

Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat and ARNEO Coat are applied to different surfaces to suppress flare from light entering the lens at different angles, working together to maintain contrast and color fidelity in backlit and mixed-lighting situations.

Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth and circular out-of-focus highlights at f/1.8, delivering pleasing background separation for portrait and street work at the 35mm wide-angle perspective on full-frame Z-mount cameras.

A customizable control ring on the barrel can be assigned to aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation for direct parameter control during shooting, and a dedicated L-Fn button provides quick access to assigned camera functions.

A smooth-operating focus ring provides satisfying manual focus control for precise adjustments during video recording and still photography, with focus-by-wire operation translating ring rotation into electronic focus movement.

Designed for the Nikon Z mount with its wide 55mm inner diameter and short 16mm flange distance, this lens is compatible with all Nikon Z-series full-frame and APS-C mirrorless cameras, providing 52.5mm equivalent on Z DX bodies.
