Tamron 28 75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 Lens (Sony E)

The tamron 28 75mm G2 covers the wide-to-short-telephoto standard zoom range from 28mm through 75mm in the second-generation VXD design for Sony E-mount, providing a versatile single-lens solution for travel, portrait, event, and everyday photography.

A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture maintained throughout the full 28-75mm zoom range provides consistent light-gathering and subject separation from 28mm through 75mm, making this lens a practical f/2.8 standard zoom in a compact and lightweight package.

The second-generation VXD Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive linear motor delivers faster, more precise, and near-silent autofocus compared to the first generation, fully compatible with Sony's Real-time Eye AF and subject tracking systems.

Low Dispersion, Glass Molded aspherical, and Extra Refractive Index glass elements in the updated G2 optical formula control chromatic aberration, field curvature, and distortion across the 28-75mm zoom range at constant f/2.8.

The second-generation BBAR-G2 coating covers a wider wavelength range than the original BBAR coating, suppressing flare and ghosting more effectively across the 28-75mm zoom range in backlit and mixed-lighting conditions.

The G2 maintains the compact and lightweight profile of the first-generation 28-75mm while improving optical and autofocus performance, keeping this Sony E-mount f/2.8 standard zoom proportional to compact full-frame mirrorless bodies.

Moisture-resistant construction at barrel joints and fluorine coating on the front element protect the lens during outdoor shooting in variable weather, making it suitable for event, travel, and portrait photography in field conditions.

Designed natively for the Sony E-mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless cameras and delivers a 42-112.5mm equivalent zoom range on APS-C E-mount bodies.
