Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Lens

The sony 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS delivers true 1:1 life-size magnification with autofocus maintained throughout the full focus range from infinity to the minimum distance, enabling precise close-up photography of small subjects at actual size on full-frame Sony E-mount cameras.

An f/2.8 maximum aperture provides strong subject separation and background blur for portrait use at normal distances while delivering sufficient light-gathering for controlled macro photography in studio and field conditions at all working distances.

The Direct Drive Super Sonic Wave Motor provides fast, accurate, and near-silent autofocus across the full focus range from infinity to the 1:1 macro minimum distance, supporting Sony's Real-time Eye AF for reliable tracking in both portrait and macro situations.

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization provides effective shake correction for handheld macro and portrait shooting, compensating for camera movement at the 1:1 magnification ratio where even small vibrations are magnified significantly in the captured image.

Extra-low Dispersion glass elements and aspherical elements control chromatic aberration, field curvature, and spherical aberration across the full focus range from infinity to the 1:1 macro minimum distance, maintaining sharpness and color accuracy at all magnifications.

Nano AR Coating minimizes internal reflections and suppresses flare and ghosting in backlit macro situations and when shooting portrait subjects against bright backgrounds, maintaining contrast and color fidelity across the aperture range.

Dust and moisture resistant construction at barrel joints and the mount gasket provides reliable protection for outdoor macro photography in field conditions, suitable for nature, botanical, and insect macro work in variable weather.

Designed for the Sony E-mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless cameras and provides an effective 135mm equivalent focal length on APS-C E-mount camera bodies.
