Sigma 28 70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E

The sigma 28 70mm covers the classic wide-to-short-telephoto standard zoom range from 28mm through 70mm in the Contemporary line, providing a versatile single-lens solution for travel, documentary, portrait, and street photography on Sony E-mount cameras.

A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture is maintained throughout the full 28-70mm range, providing consistent light-gathering and subject separation whether shooting wide at 28mm or compressed at 70mm, with no exposure adjustment required during zooming.

The lens uses a stepping motor focusing system optimized for the Sony E-mount communication protocol, delivering fast, smooth, and near-silent autofocus fully compatible with Sony's Real-time Eye AF and subject tracking via phase-detect.

Sigma's Special Low Dispersion glass elements and aspherical elements control chromatic aberration and field curvature across the 28-70mm zoom range, maintaining center and edge sharpness at the constant f/2.8 aperture throughout.

Super Multi-Layer Coating on internal elements suppresses internal reflections and flare when shooting in backlit conditions or under mixed artificial and natural lighting across the standard zoom focal range.

Sigma's Contemporary line prioritizes a balance between optical performance and reduced size and weight compared to the Art line, making this 28-70mm f/2.8 significantly lighter than comparable f/2.8 standard zooms for comfortable travel and handheld use.

Dust and splash resistant construction with a sealed rear mount gasket and moisture-resistant barrel provides protection during outdoor shooting in variable conditions, suitable for event, travel, and street photography in the field.

Designed natively for the Sony E-mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless cameras and provides an equivalent 42-105mm zoom range on APS-C E-mount camera bodies.
