Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art Lens (Sony E)

The sigma 28 45mm maintains a constant f/1.8 maximum aperture throughout the entire zoom range, an achievement unique among standard zoom lenses, providing consistent light-gathering and depth of field control from 28mm through 45mm.

A 28-45mm zoom range covers the most-used standard focal lengths for documentary, street, portrait, and event photography in a single lens, eliminating the need to swap primes between wide-angle and standard shooting distances.

The lens uses Sigma's stepping motor-based autofocus system optimized for the Sony E-mount communication protocol, delivering fast, smooth, and near-silent focus operation with full compatibility with Sony's phase-detect AF subject tracking.

Sigma's Special Low Dispersion glass elements and aspherical elements control chromatic aberration and field curvature across the zoom range at the constant f/1.8 aperture, maintaining center and edge sharpness from 28mm to 45mm.

Super Multi-Layer Coating suppresses internal reflections and flare across the zoom range, maintaining image contrast and color fidelity when shooting in backlit conditions or in environments with multiple strong light sources in frame.

Nine rounded aperture blades produce smooth and circular out-of-focus highlights at the constant f/1.8 aperture, delivering pleasing bokeh rendering across the zoom range that is typically associated with fast prime lenses.

Dust and splash resistance at the barrel joints and a sealed rear mount gasket provide protection against light moisture and dust ingress during outdoor shooting, suitable for event and documentary use in variable conditions.

Designed specifically for the Sony E-mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is fully compatible with all Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless cameras and compatible with APS-C E-mount bodies at an equivalent 42-67.5mm range.
