Tamron 17 28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens for Sony E

The tamron 17 28mm covers a useful ultra-wide zoom range from 17mm through 28mm on full-frame Sony E-mount cameras, providing expansive field-of-view options for landscape, architecture, interior, and environmental portrait photography in a compact and lightweight body.

A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture is maintained throughout the entire 17-28mm zoom range, providing consistent light-gathering and depth of field control from the 17mm extreme wide end through to the 28mm standard position without any exposure adjustment.

The RXD stepping motor delivers fast, smooth, and near-silent autofocus fully compatible with Sony's Real-time Eye AF and subject tracking via the native E-mount communication protocol, supporting both stills and video autofocus operation.

Low Dispersion, Extra Refractive Index, and Glass Molded aspherical elements work together to control chromatic aberration, distortion, and field curvature across the ultra-wide zoom range at the constant f/2.8 aperture.

Tamron's second-generation Broad-Band Anti-Reflection coating covers a wider wavelength range than conventional multi-layer coatings, suppressing flare and ghosting when shooting toward light sources within the 17mm ultra-wide field of view.

The lens is significantly more compact and lightweight than competing ultra-wide f/2.8 zooms for Sony E-mount, making it well suited for travel, landscape, and documentary photographers who need constant f/2.8 performance without the bulk of larger alternatives.

Moisture-resistant construction at barrel joints and fluorine coating on the front element protect the lens during outdoor shooting in light rain and variable weather, reducing the need for additional protection during landscape and travel use.

Designed natively for the Sony E-mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless cameras and provides a 25.5-42mm equivalent zoom range on APS-C E-mount bodies.
