Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E

The sigma 85mm is a full-frame Art-series portrait prime designed for Sony E-Mount mirrorless cameras, offering the classic 85mm focal length that provides natural subject rendering, comfortable working distance, and effective background separation.

The sigma 85mm uses five SLD glass elements to eliminate axial and lateral chromatic aberration, one aspherical element for spherical aberration correction, and four HR glass elements that collectively deliver exceptional corner-to-corner sharpness on full-frame sensors.

The sigma 85mm drives its focus elements with a Stepping Motor AF system that provides fast and near-silent operation, allowing smooth continuous AF during video recording without audible motor noise that could be captured by on-camera or directional microphones.

The sigma 85mm features a physical aperture ring with a de-click switch that enables smooth, silent aperture changes during video recording, and a customizable AFL button that can be programmed for focus hold, AF-On, or other user-defined functions.

The sigma 85mm incorporates a rounded 11-blade diaphragm that renders out-of-focus highlights as perfectly circular discs, creating an exceptionally smooth and pleasing bokeh quality that is highly desirable for professional portrait and beauty photography.

The sigma 85mm is built with a weather-sealed design that provides dust and splash resistance, allowing photographers to use it in outdoor portrait sessions, events, or travel photography without concerns about environmental damage to internal elements.

The sigma 85mm uses Super Multi-Layer Coating on its optical elements to minimize surface reflections, suppressing flare and ghosting that would otherwise degrade contrast and color fidelity when shooting in strongly backlit portrait scenarios.
