Description

sony fx3 Specifications

Sensor

12.1MP Full-Frame BSI CMOS

The sony fx3 uses a 12.1MP back-illuminated full-frame CMOS sensor optimized for video, delivering exceptional low-light performance with a native ISO range up to 12800 and an expanded ISO reaching 409600 for shooting in near-darkness conditions.

Video Recording

4K 120p / 4K S-Cinetone / S-Log3

Records 4K video at up to 120fps for 5x slow motion, with S-Cinetone color science for pleasing color straight out of camera and S-Log3 for maximum dynamic range capture intended for grading in post-production workflows.

Autofocus

Real-Time Eye AF + Tracking

Sony's Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking provide fast, reliable face and eye detection with phase-detect accuracy across the full frame, supporting continuous subject tracking during video recording even during camera movement.

Stabilization

Active Mode 5-Axis IBIS

5-axis in-body image stabilization with Active Mode provides effective electronic and optical shake correction for handheld video shooting, reducing the need for a gimbal in many run-and-gun documentary and event shooting scenarios.

Memory Cards

CF-Express Type A + SD

Dual media slots accept CFexpress Type A cards for 4K 120fps and high-bitrate recording, and a standard SD UHS-II card as the second slot, with simultaneous, relay, and proxy recording modes for flexible workflow options.

Connectivity

Full-Size HDMI + Multi-Interface

A full-size HDMI 2.0 output provides 4K 60p 16-bit RAW output to compatible external recorders, and the multi-function shoe and 3.5mm audio inputs support professional audio accessories and external monitoring equipment.

Thermal Management

Built-In Fan Cooling

An integrated active cooling fan prevents thermal shutdown during extended recording sessions, allowing unlimited 4K recording time for long-form documentary, event, and corporate video production without interruption.

Connectivity

Wi-Fi + Bluetooth + USB-C

Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enable remote control via the Imaging Edge Mobile app, and USB-C streaming allows the FX3 to function as a webcam or streaming source for live production and online content creation.
