SmallRig Cage Kit for Sony a7 III & a7R III

The smallrig a7 iii cage provides a full aluminum frame surrounding the Sony A7 III and A7R III body, protecting the camera from impacts and knocks during production use while maintaining complete access to every button, dial, port, and battery compartment without removing the cage.

The smallrig a7 iii cage features a dense grid of 1/4-inch-20 and 3/8-inch-16 threaded holes on the top, sides, front, and bottom, allowing simultaneous attachment of monitor arms, microphone mounts, LED lights, and wireless audio receivers in a complete production rig build.

Multiple cold shoe and NATO rail mounts integrated into the smallrig a7 iii cage provide additional positions for monitors, audio receivers, and small accessories beyond the camera's built-in Multi-Interface shoe, keeping all accessories securely mounted during handheld shooting.

The smallrig a7 iii cage includes an Arca-Swiss compatible dovetail base that mounts directly to Arca-Swiss tripod heads and quick-release clamps, enabling fast transition between tripod, gimbal, and handheld shooting configurations without requiring an additional baseplate accessory.

A 15mm LWS rod port built into the smallrig a7 iii cage base accepts standard lightweight cinema rails for follow focus systems, matte boxes, and lens support rods, supporting a full 15mm lightweight cinema rig configuration on the Sony A7 III or A7R III.

The smallrig a7 iii cage includes an HDMI cable clamp that secures the cable to the cage body, reducing mechanical stress on the Sony A7 III HDMI port connector and preventing accidental disconnection from monitors or external recorders during handheld shooting.

The smallrig a7 iii cage is CNC-machined from aluminum alloy, providing a strong and lightweight frame that adds minimal weight to the Sony A7 III or A7R III while delivering the rigidity required for reliable multi-accessory mounting in demanding production scenarios.

The smallrig a7 iii cage is fully compatible with SmallRig handles, monitor mounts, follow focus systems, and rod accessories, enabling a complete and modular production rig build for the Sony A7 III and A7R III using the SmallRig accessory system.
