Focal Length
24-70mm Standard Zoom Range
The sigma 24 70mm DG DN II Art covers the essential wide-to-short-telephoto standard zoom range from 24mm through 70mm in the second-generation Art line for Sony E-mount, addressing landscape, portrait, event, and documentary photography in a single premium lens.
Aperture
f/2.8 Constant Aperture
A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture is maintained throughout the full 24-70mm zoom range, providing consistent light-gathering, subject separation, and depth of field control from 24mm through 70mm without any exposure adjustment required when zooming.
Optical Update
Second-Generation Optical Design
The DG DN II designation marks a redesigned optical formula over the first-generation 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN, achieving improved corner sharpness, reduced distortion, and better flare control across the zoom range at the constant f/2.8 aperture.
Autofocus
High-Speed Motor AF
A stepping motor focusing system optimized for the Sony E-mount communication protocol delivers fast, smooth, and near-silent autofocus, fully compatible with Sony's Real-time Eye AF and subject tracking via the phase-detect sensor for stills and video.
Optical Design
Updated SLD + Aspherical Elements
The redesigned optical formula uses updated Special Low Dispersion glass elements and additional aspherical elements compared to the first generation, controlling chromatic aberration and field curvature more effectively across the full 24-70mm range.
Lens Coatings
Super Multi-Layer Coating
Super Multi-Layer Coating on internal elements suppresses internal reflections and controls flare and ghosting across the standard zoom focal range, maintaining image contrast and color fidelity in backlit conditions and under mixed lighting.
Build Quality
Dust and Splash Resistant
Dust and splash resistant construction with a sealed mount gasket and moisture-resistant barrel provides reliable protection for outdoor event, travel, and portrait photography in variable weather conditions.
Compatibility
Sony E-Mount / Full-Frame
Designed natively for the Sony E-mount and covering the full 35mm image circle, this lens is compatible with all Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless cameras and provides an equivalent 36-105mm zoom range on APS-C E-mount bodies.
